BRIDGEWATER, VA (Rocktown Now) — Bridgewater fire crews rushed to a blaze that consumed a camper near Dayton.

Authorities say the Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Company and Cloverhill Volunteer Fire and Rescue were alerted Tuesday morning to a camper fire in the 86-hundred block of Wheelbarger Road just outside of Dayton.

At around 10:45am a passerby reported what was believed to be an unoccupied camper smoking. Upon arrival, crews found flames present throughout the camper.

The fire was extinguished within fifteen minutes, and no one was injured in the incident.

The Rockingham County Fire Marshalls Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
