ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Rockingham Board of Supervisors has unanimously approved a new Chair and Vice Chair for their board.

At this week’s meeting, District Five Supervisor Joel Hensley was elected as the new Chair of the board. Hensley joined the board after the 2023 election and was the Vice Chair.

District Four Supervisor Leila Longcor was selected as the new Vice Chair.

District Three Supervisor Rick Chandler also announced his retirement. His term is up at the end of the year. Chandler has been with the board since 2014.

New County Administrator Casey Armstrong also joined the board for their first meeting after they recognized Stephen King for his commitment to Rockingham County for 24 years.
