ORLANDO, Fla. (JMU Athletics) – James Madison All-American cornerback Terrence Spence has been named to the 2025 Hula Bowl, which takes place on Jan. 11 at FBC Mortgage Stadium in Orlando.
The Hula Bowl, now in its 79th year, is a senior all-star game for 120 college athletes from every NCAA level, as well as international players from Japan. Practice for athletes begins Tuesday while the game kicks off Saturday at noon and will air nationally on CBS Sports Network.
Spence becomes to the fifth JMU player to participate in the Hula Bowl and first since Percy Agyei-Obese in 2022.
The Ringwood, N.J., native was named a Football Writers Association of America Second Team All-American and a College Football Network Third Team All-American after tying the for Sun Belt lead and ranking in the top five nationally in interceptions (5). He had a pick-six while also tallying 38 tackles, a half tackle for loss, one forced fumble, seven breakups and a pair of blocked kicks.
Spence was also named JMU’s first semifinalist for the Paycom Jim Thorpe Award and was a First Team All-Sun Belt defensive back.
