AUGUSTA COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — Augusta County Fire and Rescue are investigating the cause of a house fire in Swoope.
Officials say they were dispatched at around 7:30pm on Monday, January 6 to a structure off North Mountain Road.
Trauma 43 from Churchville-Volunteer Fire-Rescue arrived on scene to find a house with flames showing from the roof. ACFR Chief 3, Churchville Chief 4, Battalion Chief 11, Engine 145 and Tanker 147 from Swoope Volunteer Fire Company, Engine 2 and Ladder 1 from Staunton Fire and Rescue, Engine 32 from Middlebrook Volunteer Fire Department, Engine 47 and Tanker 45 from Churchville-Volunteer Fire-Rescue, Tanker 66 from Verona Volunteer Fire Company, Tanker 119 from Wilson Volunteer Fire Company, Tanker 259 from Riverheads Volunteer Fire Department, Medic 52 from Staunton-Augusta County First Aid & Rescue Squad,Inc., Squad 10, and the ACFR EMS Supervisor worked together on scene to contain and extinguish the fire.
