Think you’ve got what it takes?
The Harrisonburg Police Department has opened the application period for this year’s Community Police Academy. It’s a program that brings citizens inside the department, offering a chance to see how the Harrisonburg Police functions on a daily basis and a better understanding of the role they play in the community.
While applicants won’t become certified L-E-O’s, H-P-D says hands-on experience will be gained and crucial relationships will be formed. A ride-along with an on-duty officer is also offered to qualified participants.
Applications for the program are due February 13th. They’re available online at the City of Harrisonburg’s website.
