The Virginia Lottery released its report on sports wagering activity submitted by licensed operators for the month of November.

Virginians wagered nearly 519 million dollars last month through 13 licensed operators, which is 29 percent higher than last November when only 10 operators were active.

State law places a 15 percent tax on sports betting activity based on each permit holder’s adjusted gross revenue, which means 7.8 million dollars in tax payments were generated last month.

Incidentally, Virginia bettors won a total of over 461 million dollars.
