Captain Lear Walker, of Laguna Vista, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on October 31, 2024, at the age of 12. Born December 9, 2011, in Roseville, California, he was the son of January Haverstrom Walker of Harrisonburg, Virginia and James “Bryant” Walker of Charleston, SC.
Captain was an amazing young man that left us far sooner than he should have, sharing just 12 years with us. He thought of others continually and would sacrifice anything for a friend. He had wide appeal with his witty and gentle nature. He highly valued, and excelled, in academics, and Captain loved his brother and sister deeply. He enjoyed drawing, basketball, tennis, and had recently learned to scuba dive. He also enjoyed video games, bowling, kayaking, and swimming. His heart had no limits and he cared for everyone around him more than himself. His humor was sometimes cutting and sometimes dry but always funny.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a grandmother, Lori Todd; a brother, Everest James Walker; a sister, Atticus Reinier Walker, and many extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William Perry Walker of Charleston SC, and Almond Joy Walker of Lexington, KY.
Graveside service will be conducted at Woodbine Cemetery in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
