WAYNESBORO, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – Students from a local high school are preparing to lend a helping hand in next Tuesday’s election.

Waynesboro High School announced that Advanced Placement Government students will volunteer as election pages on Tuesday. They will aide local election officials by helping to manage voter flow and offering general support to ensure a smooth and efficient voting experience for the community.

AP Government teacher Meredith Barber says she’s grateful her students get the opportunity.

“This opportunity not only teaches my students the importance of civic engagement but will also inspire them to become active, engaged, and informed participants in our democratic process,” Barber said.

Student Election Pages will be on site from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Election Day at two Waynesboro polling locations – Kate Collins Middle School and Westminster Presbyterian Church.
