They spent the majority of their years together in Fairview Park where they raised two children and were active in church (John Knox Presbyterian) and community. In 2009, they moved to Harrionsonburg, VA, and resided at Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community most recently. David was a member of Massanutten Presbyterian Church where he sang in the choir, served on session and volunteered in other capacities. He and Jan enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, coffee dates and watching Cleveland sports teams on television.
