Barbara Ann “Barb” Sellers, 61, of Rockingham, VA, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at her home.

Barb was born on August 20, 1963, in Crawfordsville, Indiana, and was the daughter of the late Richard Rogers and surviving Arlena Johnson Rogers.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her children, Daniel Sellers of Harrisonburg and Christina Pearson and husband, Noble, of Newport News, VA; father of her children, Scott Sellers; sister, Debra Parrella of Leland, NC; sister-in-law, Valley Rogers, Cartersville, GA; nieces, Beth Dickerson and husband, Todd, and Laura Rogers; nephew, Brian Rogers; great-nephews, Thomas VanPelt and Maverick Rogers; great-nieces, Kinley VanPelt, Maliyah Rogers and Rylee Rogers and numerous extended family members, friends and co-workers who were very dear to her. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Michael Rogers and great-nephew, Tyler VanPelt.

After graduating from Turner Ashby High School in 1981, she graduated from James Madison University. She was a dedicated teacher at Keister Elementary School since 2001. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church for a number of years.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Westside Baptist Church, 715 W. Wolfe Street, Harrisonburg, VA 22802, with Pastor Troy Pearson officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the church.

Everyone attending is encouraged to wear colorful clothes in honor of Barb’s vibrant personality.
