Bryan Keith McDaniel, of Bayse, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Winchester Medical Center.

He was born on October 8, 1962 in San Angelo, Texas and was the son of the late William Howard Taft McDaniel, Jr. and Betty Jane Johnson McDaniel.

He began his career as a police officer for the town of New Market, where he worked for 14 years. He later became the Chief of Patrol for Sky Bryce Association and held that position for 14 years. Being born in Texas, he was a very proud Texan and a member of The Sons of the Republic of Texas. Bryan was also a man of faith. He loved to fish, hike and tinker with sports cars. He was a wonderful and loving husband. In his lifetime, he enjoyed the company of his canine companions, Harley, Daisy, Tank and Leo, who were his children. Bryan had a very selfless personality and would do anything to help anyone. He dedicated his life to helping others through his career and loved law enforcement. He was spontaneous and always ready for an adventure.

On September 17, 2012, he married the love of his life, Laura Ashley McDaniel, who survives, whom he shared many wonderful memories and adventures with, from the beach to the mountains, throughout their 17 years together.

In addition to his wife of 12 years and his mother, Bryan is survived by two brothers, William Howard Taft “Billy” McDaniel, III and Barry Glenn McDaniel and his wife, Pam; niece, Kylie McDaniel; nephews, Mark McDaniel and Will McDaniel and numerous extended family members and friends. He was also preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Tana McDaniel.

A private celebration of life service will be conducted at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.
