ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – Rockingham County Public Schools has announced that it is continuing its partnership with Lakeside Book Company to bring a Halloween-themed reading initiative to local elementary schools.

As part of the program, Lakeside Book employees will visit classrooms dressed as beloved characters from popular books and movies to read to students.

School officials say the initiative engages students in a fun and creative way to foster a love of reading and promote literacy.

On Thursday, Lakeside Book Company employees will visit elementary school classrooms in the county and read to students while dressed in costume.
