AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – The Stuarts Draft man who tried to run from the law back in July will wait a few weeks before entering a plea in his case.
James Howard Hipes Junior was scheduled to enter pleas on the two charges he faces during a hearing yesterday in Augusta County Circuit Court.
However, online records show that the hearing was continued until Oct. 31.
Hipes, 48, had an outstanding warrant against him for violating probation when he failed to show up for a May 13 hearing.
He tried eluding authorities but was eventually arrested at a hotel in Woodstock. He was charged with felony eluding and misdemeanor obstruction.
