HARRISONBURG, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – A coalition based in Harrisonburg is working to prevent youth substance use in the community.

The group Faces 4 Change (F4C) launched a bundle of materials titled “Methamphetamine Prevention and Intervention Bundle,’ which helps educate the public about the dangers of meth. A 60-second video PSA is among the educational materials found in the bundle.

October is National Substance Abuse Prevention Month and organization officials say the video helps to recognize the importance of preventing substance abuse for the health of individuals and communities.

In a news release, F4C Project Director P. Thandi Hicks Harper said an alarming number of youth in the area are using methamphetamine.

“F4C is making a concerted effort to distribute resources and information to reverse the trends,” Harper said. “We encourage everyone to explore the meth prevention and intervention bundle.”
