Jean Bowman Davis, 90, of Harrisonburg, VA passed away at home on Friday, October 4, 2024 surrounded by her family. Born July 15, 1934 in Woodstock, VA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ruby Geary Bowman of Edinburg, VA.

Jean was raised in Edinburg, VA and graduated from Edinburg High School in 1952. She attended Madison College and resided in Harrisonburg where she retired from Time-Warner Cable after 20 years of dedicated employment as a customer service representative. She was a long-term member of Otterbein United Methodist Church in Harrisonburg. Jean will be remembered for her big smile and friendly nature.

She is survived by her loving and faithful husband of 40 years, Clifford H. Davis; her children, Don E. Earman Jr. of Mt. Sidney, VA; Daniel C. Earman and spouse Anne Albright of Bethesda, MD; Deborah A. Earman and spouse Darryl Houser of Harrisonburg, VA; D. Kimberly Earman- McDonald and spouse Gary of Harrisonburg, VA; and her brother, Daniel C. Bowman and spouse Bonnie of Woodstock, VA. Jean is also survived by five step-children, C. Stanley Davis and spouse Debbie of Salem, VA; Cheryl D. Brown and spouse Garry of Warrenton, VA; Clifford H. “Buddy” Davis and wife Janet of Salem, VA; L. Clay Davis of Salem, VA; and Christopher R. Davis of Harrisonburg, VA; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first spouse, Donald E. Earman Sr.; a son, David W. Earman; and a sister, Nancy Bowman Hockman.

A memorial service celebrating Jean’s life will be scheduled at a later date.

The family would like to thank Jean’s caregiver, Jamie Cornelison, of Care Advantage, and Sentara Hospice for supporting Jean and her family for many months during Jean’s illness.

Jean was fortunate to have a large family and had heartfelt affection in the presence of all children. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in her honor, or Otterbein United Methodist Church.
