LURAY, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Luray Fire Department has donated a firetruck to an area in need in Tennessee.

In a social media post, the Fire Department said they wanted to repay the blessings and support they received in March from the wildfires, to those effected by flooding in Tennessee.

At their monthly meeting this week, the members unanimously voted to donate a truck that was taken out of service and received no bids when placed up for auction, to Butler, Tennessee for their use.

The station lost everything including the building, trucks, and equipment.

The truck will be sent next week by Apparatus Solutions of Brandy Station, Virginia.
