HARRISONBURG, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – Sentara RMH Medical Center will host a free drive-thru vaccination clinic to prepare folks for the 2024 flu season.
According to a news release from the medical center, the clinic will take place on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 8 a.m. to noon, while supplies last.
The free event is open to adults 18 and older who want to receive a free flu shot from the convenience of their vehicles. The clinics will be held rain or shine, and vaccinations will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
Appointments are not required.
Sentara will hold 17 clinics this year throughout Hampton Roads, Harrisonburg, Charlottesville, South Boston, Northern Virginia, and northeast North Carolina. Each clinic will be prepared to administer hundreds of flu shots, totaling more than 5,220 flu vaccines.

Annual flu shots are recommended to protect against the flu, especially for high-risk groups like young children, pregnant individuals, those with chronic conditions, and adults 65 years of age or older. Sentara staff must get vaccinated annually to protect the community.
