WAYNESBORO, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – A trial date has been set for the Waynesboro man accused of firing shots at a tow truck driver last year.

Online records showed that Derek Ray Breeden will face a jury trial on September 4 in Augusta County Circuit Court.

That date was set during an arraignment hearing on Friday morning.

Breeden, 44, is charged with three counts, including attempted malicious wounding and reckless handling of a firearm.

The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office stated that Breeden fired several rounds at the driver of a wrecker who was attempting to repossess his pickup truck on September 17.
