HARRISONBURG, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – The Harrisonburg teenager who was arrested last fall after allegedly tossing a large firework into a crowd will have another two months to decide whether to enter a plea in the case.

Online records showed that a plea hearing for Grayson Hall Smith that was set for Friday morning was delayed until October 3 in Rockingham County Circuit Court.

Smith, 19, is facing two felony charges in the case, both involving malicious assault.

The counts stem from an incident last September 23 when Smith was accused of throwing the mortar-style firework into a social gathering on South Main Street. One person was seriously injured in the explosion.

He remains free on bond.
