WAYNESBORO, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – A teenager has been arrested for allegedly making a bomb threat at Waynesboro High School.

According to a social media post from the Waynesboro Police Department, authorities responded to the school around 12:15 p.m. and worked with school administrators to quickly identify and isolate the suspect.

School officials determined that students and staff were not at risk, and school operations were not interrupted.

According to police, a 15-year-old male was arrested for making threats to bomb under Virginia Code section §18.2-83 and later released to his parents. The incident remains under investigation.
