Patsy Ann Smith, 83, of Keezletown, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Life Care Center of New Market.

She was born on July 6, 1941, in Keezletown, Virginia to the late Arthur and Mary Long Boyers.

In September of 1958, she married Joseph Lee Smith who preceded her in death on March 28, 2004. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth Boyers, Roger Boyers and Butch Boyers.

The Keezletown area is where Patsy called home her entire life. She was a caregiver at Shafer’s nursing home in Keezletown for many years. Following that, she worked at Peak View Elementary School as a custodian and lunch monitor. She enjoyed spending time with her cats, doing puzzles and watching her favorite NASCAR driver, Kevin Harvick.

Patsy is survived by one son, Joseph Lee Smith, Jr. and wife, Carol; granddaughter, Megan Shepard and husband, Charlie; sisters, Peggy Clary and husband, Tim and Lois Huffer; numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Patsy’s life will be held from 6-8 p.m., on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg with Pastor Joel Robinette officiating.
