BRIDGEWATER, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – The annual Brent Berry Food Drive concluded on Friday and coordinator Bucky Berry says nearly $20,000 worth of food was delivered Monday morning from Bridgewater Foods to the Salvation Army of Harrisonburg.

Berry credited the success to the Rockingham County Fair, which gave out tickets to next week’s fair in return for donations.

“We almost had two buses packed up in one, we almost could have filled a whole ‘nother bus,” Berry said. “[The donated food] was packed in there like jellybeans.”

The 18th edition of the Brent Berry Food Drive is scheduled to begin the day before Thanksgiving and run through after the start of the new year.
