A Heat Advisory is in effect today from 12 PM to 8 PM for all
areas east of the Blue Ridge, and the Northern Shenandoah Valley.
Elsewhere, hot and humid conditions are also possible.
Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible on today and
Saturday during the afternoon and evening hours. The primary
threat will be damaging wind gusts and isolated flash flooding in
urban areas.

High heat, humidity, and daily thunderstorm chances look to
continue through the weekend as a surface trough sits overhead.
The highest probability of thunderstorms look to occur on
Saturday ahead of a cold front that looks to cross the Mid-
Atlantic Sunday. High pressure returns Monday and Tuesday before
another cold front drops into the area by the middle of next
week.
