WAYNESBORO, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – A shooting this morning in Waynesboro left one man dead and another man in custody.
Waynesboro Police Captain Jaime Dunn said officers were dispatched shortly after 9 a.m. to the 400 block of James Avenue for a report of a discharge of a weapon.
“Upon arrival, officers conducted a preliminary investigation and discovered Trevor Hill, 33, of Waynesboro, deceased, on the front porch of the residence,” Dunn said.
Dunn added that officers located Jacob Preston Sipe, 23, of Waynesboro suffering from injuries.
He was taken to Augusta Health for treatment. Following his release, Sipe was arrested and charged with two felonies, including second-degree murder.
He is being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail.
