Edward Lee Arehart, 90, of Timberville, passed away peacefully and went home to be with his Lord and beloved wife on July 13, 2024.
He was born February 18, 1934 in Rockingham County and was a son to the late Walter Henry and Katie Marie Spitzer Arehart.
Ed had retired after 43 years at Rockingham Poultry. He was a member of the Timberville Church of the Brethren and was a lifetime member of the Timberville Volunteer Fire Department. Ed was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Germany post Korean War. He could build and fix just about anything. A family and community man, he is loved and will be missed by all.
On November 22, 1956 he married the former Vada Halterman, who preceded him in death on April 1, 2021.
Surviving are a daughter; Sharon Brumbaugh and husband Ken, of Broadway, a grandson; Josh Brumbaugh and spouse Jorge Zavala, of Stephenson, VA, and five sisters; Evelyn Sampson, of Harrisonburg, Linda Arehart, of Broadway, Peggy Sellers, of Broadway, Margaret Dillon, of Broadway, Debbie Wolverton, of Mt. Jackson.
He was preceded in death by eight siblings; Nancy Dove, Bev Arehart, Catherine Keister, Anna Tribby, Lowell Arehart, Walter “Bud” Arehart, Betty Biller and Hunter Arehart.
Pastor Karl Magenhofer will conduct a funeral service Thursday 11 AM at Timberville Church of the Brethren. Burial will be in the Timberville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
