Harrisonburg, VA (ROCKTOWN NOW) – Award nominations to acknowledge philanthropic support and generosity in the Shenandoah Valley have opened for National Philanthropy Day 2024.
The Shenandoah Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals announced in a news release that they invite individuals, businesses, and non-profit organizations to submit their nominees online until August 29 at 4 p.m.
The Shenandoah Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals has been awarding Philanthropist of the Year awards annually since 1991. These awards commend extraordinary philanthropists who showcase exceptional charitable deeds and civic responsibility in our region.
“National Philanthropy Day honors the spirit of giving in the Shenandoah Valley,” NPD Chair Penny Imeson said in the release. “We celebrate those who tirelessly contribute to our community.”
The event shines a spotlight on five awards:
- Youth in Philanthropy
- Corporate Philanthropist
- Spirit of Philanthropy
- Individual Philanthropist
- Sandra S. Neff Fundraising Award
National Award recipients of 2023 include:
- BRCC Veterinary Technology Club (Youth in Philanthropy)
- Steven & Robyn Faught with Shenandoah Automotive and Rittenhouse Auto Service (Corporate Philanthropy)
- Debra Stiles Callison (Spirit of Philanthropy)
- Dr. Garner H. and Mae Frances Downey (Posthumously) (Individual Philanthropy)
- Lisa Shull, Explore More Discovery Museum (Sandra Neff Fundraising Executive)
