ROCKINGHAM COUNTY (Rocktown Now) — A Rockingham County man who was sentenced to life in prison more than a decade ago for his role in the murder of a Hardy County, West Virginia, family, has had his appeal denied.

This morning, the three-judge Fourth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals dismissed Nakia Heath Keller’s appeal.

In June of 2012, Keller and his wife, Lorie Ann Taylor-Keller, pleaded guilty to murdering Dennis Taylor, Allaina Taylor and Allaina’s five-year-old daughter, Kaylee Whetzel and then set fire to their home on October 23, 2009.

Later that year, the Fulks Run couple were sentenced in U.S. District Court to life in prison.
