Dorothy Oneida Phillips Good, 95 of Broadway, left this earth on June 22, 2024.
She was born October 25, 1928 in Rockingham, Co. to the late Malchus and Arlene Barton Phillips.
Dororthy was a graduate of Keezeltown High School. After getting married she raised laying hens for the Farm Bureau while being a stay-at-home Mom to her four children. She was a member of Mtn. Valley United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher.
She was married 71 years to William A. Good who preceded her in death on September 6, 2020.
Surviving are three daughters, Wilda Wine of Broadway, Jo Ann Simmers of Scottsville, VA, Sandra Rogers of Rockingham; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; a brother, Owen Lee Phillips of Broadway; stepsisters, Stella “Katie’ Trizak and Louise Phillips; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sons, William “Billy” Good and a two-day old un-named baby: two brothers, Roland Phillips, Elwood Phillips.
Rev. C.W. Clinedinst will conduct a funeral service 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Mtn. Valley United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Those wish to pay respects and sign the guestbook may do so Tuesday from 9 A.M. to 7 P.M. at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway, where the casket will be closed.
