Robert “Bob” Lewis Evans, 96, of Timberville died June 16, 2024 at the Shenandoah Terrace in New Market.

He was born May 19,1928 in Frederick County, VA to the late Elmer and Grace Beatty Evans.

Bob grew up in Middletown, VA and graduated from Middletown High School. He then worked as a meat cutter for Safeway Stores before becoming an auctioneer. After moving to Timberville, he was a car salesman for Wheatley Yetzer Ford, while auctioneering on the side and helping his wife Nancy to operate the B & E Auction House in Timberville. Bob was a member of the Rader Lutheran Church in Timberville.

On July 12, 1959 he married the former Nancy Branner, who survives.

Also surviving are a son, Michael R. Evans and wife Patsy of Timberville; grandchildren, Lynn Evans and Jeremy Evans and wife Bree; great grandson, Koa; brother, Tom Evans and wife Golda of Middletown; sister, Edna Anderson of Winchester; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Katheryn Evans and Thelma Gruver.

Rev. Jeff May will conduct a graveside service 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the Rader Lutheran Church Cemetery in Timberville.

Those wishing to pay respects and sign the guestbook may do so on Wednesday from 9 A.M. to 7 P.M. at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway, where the casket will be closed.
