ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – A reminder that it is time for the annual Singers Glen Lawn Party presented by the Singers Glen Volunteer Fire Company.

Mike Armstrong, who is one of the charter members of that fire company, explained on Early Mornings today how important events like these are to local fire companies.

“This is one of our major significant fundraisers, and we absolutely need it,” Armstrong said. “The money is going to keep us operating so we can provide a service to our community.”

The lawn party begins at 5 p.m. on Thursday when food is served and the highlight is the beauty pageant. Live music will also be featured and Saturday’s activities include a parade.
