ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – The Weyers Cave man who is accused of orchestrating a murder-for-hire plot last year was scheduled to be back in court Friday afternoon.
However, according to online records, the pre-trial hearing for Richard Dwayne Brunk was continued until July 23 in Rockingham County Circuit Court.
At that time, a date will be set to either enter a plea date or trial date.
Brunk, 63, is facing two counts of murder for hire after those alleged plans came to light last fall. One of the suspected targets was Rockingham County Commonwealth’s Attorney Marsha Garst.
Back in November, Brunk was convicted of second-degree murder in connection with the death of his brother, Ronnie, last June.
A judge sentenced him to 43 years in prison.
