HARRISONBURG, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – Organizers for the yearly Harrisonburg Soap Box Derby said that this month’s race drew the largest crowd of spectators in the event’s history.

The 19th-annual race was held on May 11 just north of the Friendly City.

For folks who couldn’t attend, the Harrisonburg/Rockingham County Rotary Club, which sponsors the race, announced the winners in each of the three divisions:

The Stock division was claimed by 12-year-old Jamison Tanner. Meanwhile, Caleb Gilbert, 12, finished first in the Superstock division. And finally, Grayson Lilly, 15, was the champion of the Masters division.

All three of these racers have received an invite to race in the national championship derby in Akron, Ohio on July 20.
