WOODSTOCK, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – A man is in custody after authorities responded to a reported drug overdose at a Woodstock hotel.

Sheriff Tim Carter stated that deputies with the Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office, as well as officers with Woodstock Police, responded Sunday to the overdose in a room at the Econo Lodge.

A search warrant was then obtained and executed Monday for the room where William Edward Bell IV, 22, was staying.

Upon searching the room, over 50 capsules containing suspected powder fentanyl were recovered, as well as a cell phone.

Bell was arrested and charged with possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute. He is currently being held without bond at Rappahannock-Shenandoah-Warren Regional Jail.
