HARRISONBURG, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – National Salvation Army Week kicks off today, and the Harrisonburg-Rockingham chapter is celebrating by serving emergency workers.

Lieutenant Douglas Ingold with the Salvation Army explained while speaking on Early Mornings, Monday.

“One of the things we like to do is support our first responders that we partner with so much and we go around take donuts to them and thank them this week,” Ingold said.

The week is designed to remind the community about the many services the Salvation Army provides in places like the Shenandoah Valley.

Folks who would like to give to the local chapter this week are encouraged to click the “Donate” tab at the website SalvationArmy.org.
