HARRISONBURG VA: (ROCKTOWN NOW) – As the rain clears out, strong gusty winds will persist over the Shenandoah Valley into this evening. A robust cold front from the Ohio River Valley will move across the Mid-Atlantic tonight as low pressure shifts from the Great Lakes to southeastern Canada. Expect windy conditions on Thursday due to the departing low pressure to the north and building high pressure from the west. By Friday, high pressure will shift southward, followed by a weak low-pressure system crossing the region from Friday night into Saturday. Another low-pressure area will pass to the south on Sunday, with high pressure returning for the first half of next week.
From the National Weather Service
Isolated severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging wind gusts and hail are possible through this evening. A tornado or two cannot be ruled out as well.
