HARRISONBURG VA: (Rocktown Now) – A low-pressure system and its trailing cold front will move east of the Shenandoah Valley today, then stall just southeast of the region over the weekend. This setup will keep shower and thunderstorm chances in the forecast through the weekend, particularly south of Washington, D.C.

Early next week, high pressure building southward from eastern Canada will interact with a tropical system lifting northward along the western Atlantic. Depending on the storm’s track, additional rainfall could impact the area next week.
