PCB prepares for 100th anniversary

Years ago, residents of the South Branch Valley in West Virginia had to travel to Harrisonburg and other areas for their banking needs. In January 1937, the shareholders of Farmers and Merchants Bank of Marlinton voted to relocate the bank to Franklin. At that time, the bank had been operating for 12 years, having opened its doors on October 3, 1925. Next year, Pendleton County Bank, now known as PCB, will celebrate its 100th anniversary. Jonah Pence from PCB discusses the bank’s history, the evolution of banking, and a challenge the bank’s employees will face in the coming year
