The spotted lanternfly (Lycorma delicatula), an invasive insect originally from Asia, poses a serious threat to agriculture and natural ecosystems throughout the eastern United States. Since its initial discovery in Pennsylvania in 2014, it has quickly expanded its range, targeting more than 70 plant species such as grapevines, fruit trees, and various hardwoods.
