Area High School Football Scoreboard – Friday, 11/7

James Madison volleyball won its 12th straight match, sweeping Old Dominion 25-15, 25-23, 25-23, on Friday evening inside the ODU Volleyball Center.

James Madison shot 4-of-29 (.138) from three and 21-of-78 (.269) from the field in a 72-57 loss at the hands of George Mason in non-conference women’s basketball action on Thursday night inside the Atlantic Union Bank Center.

Top-seeded Miami (Ohio) scored consecutive goals in the second half and held off fourth-seeded James Madison, 2-1, in the semifinal round of the Mid-American Conference Field Hockey Championship on Thursday afternoon at the JMU Field Hockey Complex.

James Madison running back Wayne Knight was selected as one of six finalists for the 2025 Paul Hornung Award, which is given annually to the most versatile player in major college football.

Gabe Newhof and Justin McBride combined for 32 points, and James Madison men’s basketball won its first game of the 2025-26 season, downing Washington & Lee 70-56 on Wednesday night at the Atlantic Union Bank Center.
