An Augusta County man has been arrested for allegedly discarding many used tires into Middle River earlier in the summer.

On August 1st, authorities received a call from a female claiming a male suspect, who she allegedly owed money, was attempting to intimidate her by walking in front of her house with a sword or machete in his hand.

The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office notified the community of multiple vehicle break-ins on August 19.

The Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a resident recently received a call from someone claiming to be with the Social Security Administration, stating that the citizen’s identity had been compromised and that they needed a new Social Security number.

According to ACSO, the man is possibly involved in a larceny case that is currently under investigation.

On Tuesday night, an officer initiated a traffic stop on a U-Haul moving truck that had been the subject of a “Be on the Lookout” notice for a possibly intoxicated driver that was issued earlier in the evening.

Brianca Elaine Estes pled guilty to five charges during a hearing Wednesday afternoon in Waynesboro Circuit Court. Prosecutors decided not to pursue a sixth charge.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking residents in this area to check their vehicles for missing or stolen items.
