Harrisonburg officers and community members participated in the 2025 Law Enforcement Torch Run benefiting the Special Olympics of Virginia Thursday morning.

The school board unanimously approved the VSBA Policy Services Agreement for the 2025-26 school year at its final business meeting of the current school year.

The entire event lasts from June 4 to June 7 located behind the Weyers Cave Fire Company, 1235 Keezletown Road, Weyers Cave, VA.

From 4 pm to 6 pm HFD will be checking smoke alarms for free.

Turner Pavillion will open every third Thursday of the month from 5 to 8 pm for the third annual Sunset Market.

The design for a new mural in downtown Harrisonburg incorporates images of people from around the world. Students in Iran – who are not permitted freedom of expression – have designed the mural, to be painted by Harrisonburg-Rockingham area artists.

Staunton City Schools is participating in the Summer Food Service Program, offering complimentary meals to all children 18 years old and younger without discrimination. 

Arts Council of the Valley has shared its June First Fridays of the Valley lineup, featuring arts programming at 23 venues throughout the City of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.

The City of Staunton has launched a new Adopt-a-Spot program, a streamlined and revitalized version of the city’s former Adopt-a-Street and Adopt-a-Stream initiatives.

Rockingham County Public Schools will issue bonuses to all contracted employees in August, using newly allocated state funds designated for SOQ (Standards of Quality) instructional and support positions.
