The Wayne Theatre is holding a “Find The Rocks” promotion where the community is invited to start looking around Downtown Waynesboro businesses for Cinderella-themed painted rocks.
The service will be held on Saturday, August 16th at John C. Myers Elementary School at 6pm. Family, friends, colleagues, former students, community members, and all others who knew her are invited.

The Virginia War Memorial in Richmond is seeking entries for its Virginia War Memorial 2025 Veterans Day Student Essay Contest. The annual competition is open to all Virginia middle and high school age public, private, and homeschooled students. One winner will be selected from among all middle school entries (grades 6-8) and one from high school entries (grades 9-12).
Input from stakeholders and community members will help shape the document that will inform city policies and local decision-making over the next 20 years.
The event will take place on Thursday, September 4 from 6 to 8pm at Central Library in Harrisonburg.
The goal for this event is to provide backpacks full of school supplies for the upcoming school year for Harrisonburg City and Rockingham County students.
Clay and Paula Greene of Augusta County received the 2025 Virginia Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmers Achievement Award. They were recognized July 26 during the VFBF Young Farmers Summer Expo in Franklin County.
