
The Staunton City School Board has appo inter Eric Irizarry as superintendent of Staunton City Schools, effective July 1, 2025.

Harrisonburg residents will be able to get into Westover Pool for free until Thursday to beat the heat.

The spraygrounds, at approximately 6,000 square feet in size with 36 different spray features and interactive elements, will open to the public following a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, July 1, at 10 a.m.

The park will only accept mobile and electronic payments for entrance and campground fees.

Free meals are provided by Page County Public Schools for those 18-years-old and younger. This will happen on Tuesdays through Thursdays at different locations until August 21.

This event offers families and visitors of all ages an opportunity to experience how Americans marked Independence Day in the 18th and 19th centuries.

The proclamation was presented by Virginia Secretary of Agriculture and Forestry, Matt Lohr to Virginia Poultry Federation President, Hobey Bauhan at the Virginia Poultry Industry Center at Rockingham County Fairgrounds.
