Construction continues on Route 33 bridge over I-81 at exit 247 in Harrisonburg

A temporary traffic signal will be placed on the east side of the I-81 bridge and will manage traffic in both the eastbound and westbound directions, and manage traffic headed north on I-81 from Route 33.

Life Care Center of New Market welcomes new administrator 

Breeden comes to the position with 19 years of experience working in skilled nursing/long-term care. She is a registered nurse and previously served the center as director of nursing before earning her NHA license in 2024. She was assistant executive director for nearly a year before being promoted in February.

Wildlife Center of Virginia rescues Great Blue Heron

A Great Blue Heron was found entangled in fishing line at Waller Mill Park in Williamsburg, Virginia. Responders from Tidewater Wildlife Rescue arrived quickly and were able to safely capture the bird, transporting it to the Wildlife Center of Virginia for evaluation and care.

Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office searching for missing woman

Janice Joyce has been reported missing and endangered and was last seen leaving her residence in her vehicle around 2:40 yesterday afternoon, in the 2-thousand block of Boyer Road in Fort Valley. Her vehicle was recovered in the Fort Valley area.
