Shenandoah Sheriff investigates officer-involved fatal shooting

Sheriff Tim Carter reported that the incident happened shortly after 6:00 p.m. Sunday, August 17, 2025, in the 17-hundred block of Alan Springs Road, when a deputy responded to an attempted sexual assault of a child by a 28-year-old man.

The Wildlife Center of Virginia’s 2025 Online Gala Auction is officially open now through Saturday, August 23 at 8:00 p.m. EST.

This year’s auction features nearly 100 items, from handcrafted goods and wildlife-inspired art to one-of-a-kind experiences. Several of the items were even crafted with the help of the Center’s animal ambassadors.
