RICHMOND, VA (Rocktown Now) — Governor Glenn Youngkin has ordered flags at half-staff.

Pursuant to President Biden’s Presidential Proclamation to lower the United States flag, the Commonwealth of Virginia flag should also be flown at half-staff on all state and local buildings and grounds in memory and respect of former President Jimmy Carter.

Governor Youngkin added in his release that this is to honor Jimmy Carter’s commitment to the Nation, love for his wife, and service to his country in the United State Armed Forces.

Flags should be lowered immediately and remain at half-staff for 30 days from the day of his death and conclude on January 28.
