RICHMOND, VA (Rocktown Now) — Governor Glenn Youngkin has ordered the United States and Commonwealth of Virginia flags to be flown at half-staff on Tuesday, December 2.
Youngkin says state and local buildings and grounds in the Commonwealth of Virginia should lower the flags in memory and respect of Virginia Department of Corrections Officer Jeremy Lewis Hall, who was tragically killed in the line of duty on November 17, 2025, during an attack by an inmate at River North Correctional Center. Officer Hall served the Virginia Department of Corrections since April 25, 2024.
Flags should be lowered at sunrise on Tuesday and remain at half-staff until sunset.
