HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Governor Glenn Youngkin has announced a record-breaking 154 and a half million dollars in Affordable and Special Needs Housing loans for 47 projects across the Commonwealth.
The recommended projects will create and preserve over three thousand homes for low-income households.
One of the awards is for five million dollars for the Beverly J. Searles Foundation to help with the Wisteria Gardens of Harrisonburg Senior Apartments.
Nearly one and a half million dollars will be awarded to the Valley Housing Trust for the Market Commons PSH project in Harrisonburg.
“These loans leverage a total of $1.1 billion to provide accessible and affordable housing for all Virginians. This is a cornerstone for the prosperity of our Commonwealth,” said Governor Glenn Youngkin. “By prioritizing housing, we strengthen our economy, reinforce our communities, and build a stronger, more vibrant Virginia for generations to come.”
