WOODSTOCK Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) — Two people are in the hospital and a 17-year-old juvenile is in custody following an incident early this morning in Woodstock.

Woodstock Police reported on its Facebook page that officers were dispatched shortly before 4:30 a.m. to the 300-block of West North Street after neighbors reported hearing several shots fired.

Police Chief Eric Reilly said that, upon arrival, officers located two victims in the front yard. A man and a woman were both suffering from stab wounds, and the man was also suffering from a gunshot wound.

The juvenile suspect, who fled the scene prior to the officers’ arrival, was identified and taken into custody at a location in Warren County.

The incident forced Shenandoah County school officials to cancel classes for today, and tonight’s high school football game pitting Clarke County at Central is postponed.

However, Strasburg’s homecoming game tonight against Page County is still on.
