STERLING VA: (Rocktown Now) – Drivers across parts of Central Virginia are being urged to use caution today as a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 5 p.m. EST. Forecasters expect 1 to 3 inches of snow, with some areas along the Blue Ridge Mountains possibly seeing up to 4 inches.
The advisory covers Albemarle, Nelson, Augusta, and Rockingham Counties, as well as the Central Virginia Blue Ridge region. Snowfall is expected to create slippery road conditions, which could impact both the morning and evening commutes.
Officials recommend allowing extra travel time and exercising caution on untreated roads.
