HARRISONBURG VA (ROCKTOWN NOW) – A winter storm warning is in effect until 7 PM EST Saturday for parts of West Virginia including, Northwest Pocahontas, Southeast Randolph, and Southeast Webster Counties. The region is expected to experience heavy snowfall, with total accumulations ranging from 9 to 20 inches. Winds could gust up to 45 mph, creating hazardous conditions. The warning is active until 7 PM Saturday. Heavy snow with accumulations between 9 and 20 inches and winds gusts as high as 45 mph.
According to the National Weather Service. Falling and blowing snow may reduce visibility to below 1/4 mile and strong winds and the weight of the snow could down power lines, leading to sporadic outages. Conditions may make travel very difficult or impossible, particularly affecting todays morning and evening commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
